Fay Walsh joined the Ann Arbor (Michigan) Jaycees in July 1999. She served on the chapter’s Board of Directors for three years before becoming the 69th President in 2003. During her service to the Ann Arbor Jaycees, Fay was recognized as a National Outstanding Local Vice President, as well as one of Michigan’s Top 20 Chapter Presidents after leading Ann Arbor to their 9th consecutive year of growth, finishing the year with 241 members.
From there, Fay went on to hold several positions within the Michigan Jaycees, including Blue Chip Program Manager, Membership Vice President and Executive Vice President, earning accolades as one of Michigan’s Top 3 Program Managers and National Outstanding State Officer. In 2009, Fay served as the 85th President of the Michigan Jaycees.
In addition to her duties as the Michigan Jaycees’ Chairman of the Board in 2010, Fay served as National Vice President for the U.S. Jaycees. She was assigned to Georgia, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah and Washington, and cross-assigned to her
home state of Michigan. Fay continued to lead at the national level, holding the roles of Chaplain in 2011, Chief of Staff in 2012 and Membership Director in 2013. Fay was elected to serve the United States Junior Chamber as the 94th National President in 2014.
Fay holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Eastern Michigan University and is a Senior Recruiter for PNC Bank. She is certified to train JCI Impact, Achieve, Admin and Omoiyari. Fay is a 10th Degree Jaycee and Senator #68824.
Kay Solsbury has over 25 years of experience in the field of organizational development, training design and delivery, and communication. Her work experience spans financial services, automotive, major industry, and non-profit organizations.
Kay has extensive experience in project management, instructional design, strategic planning, change management, large scale meeting facilitation, management &leadership development, customer service, high performance team development and sales training.
Kay holds an M.Ed.in Instructional Technology from Wayne State and has completed extensive Doctoral level course work in the same field.
She has been with Frankenmuth Insurance for 10 years as the Learning & Development and Organizational Change Manager.
Kim Sanders is a licensed massage therapist and been in the practice for over ten years now. She is a student at University of Michigan, pursuing her bachelors in health science with a concentration on physical therapy. She is also very involved at her church, Bethlehem Judah COGIC, and very involved in ministries that seek to help the community and women in need. She is one third of an internet radio show named Truth and Life Today.
Jamie Furbush is the President and CEO of the Frankenmuth Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau. She has served in that role for the past 8 years and been with the organization for nearly 15 years in a number of roles. Jamie has a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and has served many statewide associations in the tourism industry, including being a past President of the Michigan Convention & Visitors Bureaus (MACVB) and Michigan Meeting Professionals International (MMPI). She has won numerous accolades including a 2011 RUBY award winner for the best and brightest professionals under 40 in the Great Lakes Bay Region and the 2014 Frankenmuth Boss of the Year. A member of many statewide and international associations, Jamie is proud to represent the beautiful city of Frankenmuth and Michigan tourism industry.
88th MIJC President Sarah Nelson was an active Jaycee for 13 years, joining the Grand Rapids Jaycees chapter in 2001. She served her home chapter as the Community Vice President and 77th President in 2005, having recruited over 75 members during her term and hosting over 200 events in that year alone. For the Michigan Jaycees, she served as a Region Director, Secretary, Communications Director, Community Vice President, Management Vice President, 88th State President and finished her Jaycee career as Chairman of the Board. She is an active JCI trainer and graduate of JCI Prime, Lead, Achieve, Impact, and Networking. Past-President Sarah has been recognized with the Top 25 chapter VPs in the Nation in 2004, a Top 10 state vice-presidents in the nation in 2007, two time USJC Presidential Award of Honor recipient, the MIJC Dennis Hamilton Memorial Award, and 7 Presidential Medallions. Under her Presidency, the MIJCs was recognized in 2012 by the US Junior Chamber with the George O. Wilson Memorial Award for the Most Outstanding State Organization. Past-President Sarah is a Life Member of the Grand Rapids Jaycees, and the Michigan Junior Chamber. She is JCI Senator #72701.
Debbie Mogdis started her Jaycee career in 1989 and is a Life Member of the Greater Muskegon Jaycees. She served her home Chapter as Newsletter Editor, Treasurer, several different Director and Vice President positions and was the Chapter President in 1997-98. She was the Jaycee of the Year in 1992. She served as a District Director for the Michigan Jaycees in 1999.
Debbie received her JCI Senatorship in 2003. She served as the Michigan JCI Senate Hospitality Chair for 6 years, their Communication Vice President and was the 39th Michigan JCI Senate President in 2011-12. She has been a Presidential Assistant to a few JCI Senate Presidents since then. Debbie stays active with her home Chapter, as well as the JCI Senate.
Debbie has been a legal assistant for 27 years and currently works for Shon Cook Law in Whitehall, Michigan. Debbie lives in Fruitport, Michigan with her husband, Bob, two children, Katie and Kevin, and grandson, Trent in a home that she and her husband designed and had built in 1999. Debbie is currently the President of The Old Newsies Goodfellows of Muskegon County. She has held this position since 2000. Through this organization, she has makes sure that funds are made available for 4000 plus children to receive Christmas presents each year. This group consists of over 400 members.
Debbie’s other hobbies include relaxing at her friend’s cabin in Baldwin, riding with her husband on their Harley Trike, spending time with her grandchild and volunteering whenever she can.
