Over the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, take a moment to reflect on what it takes to be a leader, whether you are leading a chapter, chairing a project, or engaged as an individual member.
“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” –Thomas Jefferson
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” –John Quincy Adams
We can learn a lot about leadership from the men and women who fought for our country’s independence and shaped its early course through history. As we celebrate Independence Day with barbecues, fireworks and parades, it can be easy to forget the importance of this anniversary of our history. The moral conviction and courage to take a stand are still desperately needed. The values that made our Founding Fathers great still ring true today and can certainly be applied as we work together to further the Jaycees movement.
I wish you a safe and happy Fourth of July!
