Happy New Year from District 5!
For those of you who don’t know me, I became a Jaycee in March of 2012 as a charter member of the Burton Area Chapter. I served as Chapter President in 2014 & 2015, and also served as Legal Counsel for the Michigan Jaycees in 2015. I’m excited to take on the role of D5 Director this year and am looking forward to see what these amazing chapters have in store for their communities.
The D5 Chapter Visitation Rewards Program is officially underway! In an effort to encourage the chapters in our district to come together and support each other, I’ve created a program to reward the chapter with the most chapter visits. All of the chapter presidents have been given a sheet with the rules and the point values. Please contact me if you would like a copy of your own. Different activities are worth different point values. The first deadline to turn in your point sheets will be in May. The prize will be a traveling trophy that will be awarded at each Michigan Jaycees Conference during our district wrap. I will provide a pizza party for the chapter that accumulates the most points for the year.
Start earning points now by volunteering to help the Frankenmuth Jaycees at the 2016 Snowfest Food Booth from Jan 29 - 31. The available shifts are Friday 1/29 from 3:30pm to 10pm; Saturday 1/30 9:30am-3pm; 2pm-8pm, and 6pm to 10pm; and Sunday 1/31 from noon to 5 pm. Chairman Scott Benson said he has a special prize for the D5 Chapter that brings the most volunteers!
You can also earn points by visiting another chapter’s GMM. (Remember for it to count as a chapter visit, 3 members of your chapter have to attend!)
