District 2 Director Melissa Greko - Feb

mgreko@mijaycees.org

Greetings from District 2!

We are surviving the cold and making connections in our district this month. Getting our boards up and running and definitely getting active around our communities.

Thank you to the Greater Muskegon Jaycees for starting our year out with their annual Snowfest. It was a great chance for us to get out and enjoy some lake effect weather and have some fun with the community. Here is a special thank you to all the chapters who came out to volunteer and play with us.

The Kentwood Jaycees are keeping busy this February. Feel free to come help with Texas Hold ‘em (Feb. 12-15) at Lincoln Lanes Country Club/Bowling Alley. Contact Edonna Russell for shifts at erussell837@gmail.com. Or, pass out food to the less fortunate on Feb. 18 at the Kent Hills Elementary Food Truck; email President Julia Klein for details julialynn02@hotmail.com.

Save the date! The Grand Rapids Jaycees are hosting the Special Olympics Basketball Finals & Skills Competition March 27 through 28 in Rockford. Planning is underway and volunteers are already being accepted – sign up today (volunteer4somi@gmail.com)!

Allegan Jaycees are keeping their flag hanging tradition alive – they proudly put up flags for Martin Luther King Day and the upcoming Presidents Day; hats off to them for their patriotism. They are also gearing up for the Easter Egg Extravaganza next month. Stay tuned for details.

Can’t wait to celebrate with everyone at conference in Troy!
