2015 Programming Year End - Jan

Greetings, Jaycees!

While 2015 has ended, there is still some “official business” to wrap up, namely our Year End Celebration in Grand Rapids, February 19-21. In case you missed it, Early Bird Registration has been extended to January 15, 2016, so don’t forget to register!
Speaking of that date, that is also the deadline for Third Trimester and Year End submissions. Please remember, all submissions for Third Trimester and Year End are due Friday, January 15, 2016, 8pm Eastern Time. Please consult the Michigan Jaycees Document Library for a Third Trimester/Year End Survival Guide and all forms needed.

You may wonder why we ask for additional questions in the Single Project Entry process in the Third Trimester. We do this so that Third Trimester winners are able to be advanced to Nationals without ruining the surprise before our Year End conference. Everything else about this process is the same, including the project resume and the interview portion. The interview will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2016, in Lansing. A schedule of interview times will be communicated by Monday, January 18 2016.

Please note that this is also the date for Third Trimester and Year End Competitions. Winners of Speak Ups will be asked to prepare the Year End topic as well as mentally prepare for an impromptu speech. You can get more information about our Third Trimester and Year End Competitions topics at the MIJC Professional Skills Competitions Facebook page.

Interviews for Stark and Lichwala/Luthy recognitions will also take place in Lansing on January 23, 2016. Please be sure to submit the required form, answering the questions to the best of your ability. Recipients of the Stark or Lichwala/Luthy award may be submitted to the USJCs for consideration of national awards.

If you have any questions, please send them via email to hharris@mijaycees.org.  Winners of First and Second Trimester SPEs will be contacted later this week to advise on their submission process.

Thank you!
